Ping Khuan holds a perfect score on the SAT exam, as well as 99th percentile scores on the ACT exam, the GMAT exam and the GRE exam.
As one of Singapore’s top specialists in university entrance exam preparation, Ping Khuan has a wealth of professional experience in educational psychometric assessment. In teaching, curriculum design and university admissions consulting, the quality of his work is evident in his illustrious track record of university placement successes: many of his students now attend top universities globally, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Brown, Cornell, UC Berkeley, New York University, Oxford University, and Cambridge University.
Prior to joining IvyPrep, Ping Khuan worked at a U.S. law firm as an international trade consultant, at a leading news agency as a financial news journalist, and at his university newspaper as a senior writer. In his free time, he plays Othello, an abstract strategy board game, in which he is ranked among the top 10 competitive players in Singapore.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, a constituent college of the Ivy League, Ping Khuan is also a former alumnus of Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong Institution. He holds a postgraduate diploma in management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
English and University Consultant
Having earned her degree from Yale-NUS College, Lishani is deeply invested in education. In her undergraduate days, she spent two years as a Writing Tutor at the Yale-NUS College Writers’ Center, instructing and guiding her fellow undergraduate students on everything on structuring academic essay writing, from brainstorming to development to proofreading.
Lishani has scored in the 99th percentile for the SAT Reading (perfect score) and SAT Writing (top 1% score). Now as a SAT/ACT instructor at IvyPrep, Lishani is well-equipped technically to bring out the best of her students. She thrives on the opportunity to spread her passion for reading and writing to her students and has enjoyed and working with both high school aged students and younger students.
While studying at Yale-NUS College, Lishani worked as a Student Associate for the Yale-NUS College Admissions Office where she conducted various student panels on tips on how best to navigate the admissions process. Having recently graduated from college herself, Lishani is intimately familiar with the university admissions process and is excited to work with other students to present the best version of themselves on their university applications.
A seasoned writer, Lishani is a published author in at least three countries for her work in journalism, poetry and non-fiction prose.
Math and Science Consultant
Khang Chien graduated from University of Science, Malaysia with a First Class Honours in Pure Mathematics. As a consequence of his diligence and extraordinary passion for mathematics, a result of his research project was acknowledged in a paper published in the journal “Theoretical Computer Science”.
Due to his unquenchable thirst for knowledge, he furthered his studies at National University of Singapore and eventually earned an MSc. degree in Mathematics. With his wealth of mathematical knowledge and in-depth understanding, he seeks to make learning Mathematics fruitful and enjoyable.
He has always had a strong interest in educational field, which fuelled his proactivity in the participation of various educational activities including both part-time and voluntary teaching. Believing firmly that everyone can benefit from Mathematics, he sees the spreading of love for Math as his lifelong mission.
Shaun graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA and BCL in law. He was ranked one of the top students in his undergraduate studies and he won the 3VB Prize for topping Commercial Law. As a result of his academic excellence, he was also awarded a scholarship at St Edmund Hall.
He has had stints at various international law firms and in the educational sector. Concerning the latter, he was previously a relief History lecturer at a leading junior college and also possesses extensive experience in private tutoring.
He is most passionate about good writing and effective communication: the two centerpieces of successful university applications. His interest in admissions was piqued after his active involvement with it during his postgraduate days. Just as he has achieved his goal of studying at his dream university, he, too, hopes that he can help others get into theirs.
When he is not busy helping people get into their target universities, he can be found poring over books (non-fiction ones). He also relishes thinking about—and attempting to solve—knotty legal problems. Most times, he has had to consign his solutions to the bin; but, when he has gotten lucky, his ideas have been vindicated and published in various reputable legal journals.
