Ideally, you should take the SAT in Junior College Year 1/ IB Year 11. This gives you an entire year to prepare for and secure a good score on the SAT, while allowing you to focus on your university applications in your final year. If you are already in your final year, we would recommend taking the SAT as soon as possible. This is because your SAT score would heavily inform your university choices. Should you require a second attempt, you can do so also in JC Year 1/IB Year 11, or the first half of JC Year 2/IB Year 12.
